Tim Smith

Platform Development

Tim is charged with keeping the cogs turning under the bonnet of all of our e-learning solutions. He is passionate about education and is always looking for ways in which the platform can be developed further to increase the learning journey for our users. When he is not building new features into the platform, you can often find Tim cleaning up the code to ensure that the our OBELISK platform runs as quickly as it does.

He also works on his family farm in the wilds of mid-Wales where they have a flock of rare sheep which remain on the watch list of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust.

After gaining a degree in Computer Science, Tim spent nine years teaching in a number of secondary schools in Wales.  For the majority of his time teaching, Tim led a highly successful team of teachers delivering vocational ICT qualifications, and reached the level of Associate Assistant Headteacher before leaving teaching.  Tim has also spent a number of years as an examiner and moderator for one of the UK's largest awarding bodies, and has at various times led teams of moderators, and been principal examiner for an A level module.
